JP Hackling will be performing on acoustic guitar at 11:00 AM. He has been playing guitar, drums, keyboards and singing vocals for about 20 years. His guitar playing is distinct in that he plays it ‘reverse lefty’, a left handed method with the strings on backwards. When he was about 12 years old, JP picked up his father’s mid-60’s hollowbody electric guitar, a guitar that he himself had he bought when he was about 12 years old. Since then, JP has been completely self-taught on guitar, although he did have years of piano lessons which taught him all about music theory, which he applied to his guitar playing. JP’s top musical influences include Stevie Ray Vaughan, Sara Bareilles, Eric Clapton and Lindsey Ray.
The music will be hosted by Ric Albano, composer and vocalist of Sinclair Soul, who will perform short sets at 10:30 AM and 1:00 PM. In the past 12 months, Sinclair Soul has released two albums, The Journey (June 2017) and Reflections of Relevance (March 2018), with a third LP, Nine Fine Lines due for release this September. Ric recorded these albums primarily with Bret Alexander (guitars/multi-instruments) and Ron Simasek (drums/percussion), both former members of The Badlees and current members of Gentlemen East. A native of Hazleton, Ric currently resides in the Harrisburg area and has performed acoustic mixtures of originals and covers throughout the East Coast.
